Wapello County NEST Program
If you are pregnant or have custody of a child ages zero to five and reside in Wapello County, this program may be of interest to you.
Our Mission:
The NEST believes that every child, beginning at birth, will be healthy and successfully reach their full potential. The NEST believes that prenatal care and early childhood education are the most important factors in ensuring healthy children and families. By providing and incentive program, we hope to encourage earlier entry into the healthcare system, as well as encourage social-emotional development of children.
How does the NEST program work?
Using the NEST is really very simple. Whenever you attend a prenatal or postpartum care visit, or attend a class offered through the NEST, you receive points. As you accumulate points, you can spend them like money on baby items in the NEST store! The more points you ear, the more things you can buy!
Classes:
Monday-6:00 to 7:00 PM
Thursday-10:00 AM to 11:00 AM
For more information or to enroll, contact Karie McMillian-Sherwood at kariem@iastate.edu or by calling the Wapello County Office.
