The 4-H sheep department will offer some educational opportunities to improve and further develop the sheep projects for 4-Hers in Washington County.   Different topic areas will be covered at each meeting while project leaders, a variety of producers and sheep showman will also be available for a question-and-answer sessions.

4-H’ers interested in the Dog Project are strongly encouraged to attend an informational meeting on Saturday, April 15, 9 a.m. at the Washington County Extension Office.

4-H’ers involved in the bucket bottle project are invited to attend an informational meeting on Wednesday, April 5. at the Washington County Extension Office.  This department project meeting is open to all members and their families who have questions about how to get started or who are ready to learn more in advancing their project.

Cattle Show

Washington County 4-H County Council will be sponsoring an IJBBA sanctioned open cattle show on Saturday, April 22 at the Washington County Fairgrounds.  This event is open to youth of all ages up to 21.

Floral Design

April 16 4-H will host a Floral Design Workshop at Wolf Floral in Washington from 4pm-4:45pm.  Participants will learn on the topics of floral design basics, cut flower care, tips for growing flowers at home, floral careers and more.  This workshop will be led by 4-H floral superintendent Kathleen Brinning.

Families of Washington County with youth 4th grade-8th grade are invited to participate in the “Mindful Families” program on Mondays in April.

The Washington County Fair Swine Committee is in preparation for the spring weigh-in for production swine. Participation in the production swine division is optional for all exhibitors.  The Production Swine division includes production gilts and production barrows.  Those wanting to participate must contact the Extension Office by April 10 for their exact weigh-in time on April 15.

The Washington County Extension Office, 4-H & Youth Committee and the County Council are sponsoring 4-H Fire Up! New Member Event for 4-H members and parents/guardians.  Mark your calendars for Sunday, March 19 from 1:30-4:00 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office.
