Each week the Salvation Army helps to feed the homeless in Des Moines and need roughly 150 casseroles a week. The Carlisle Trail Blazers 4-H Club made 19 egg casseroles for the Salvation Army at their January Meeting.

Do YOU have what it takes to be a first-class babysitter? Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Warren County, is hosting a babysitting clinic for boys and girls 5th grade and up at the Norwalk Public Safety Building on March 13-15 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a three-hour class for anyone interested in being certified to sell morel mushrooms legally within the state of Iowa. The workshop will be held on three consecutive Saturdays in April on the Iowa State University campus.

The Iowa 4-H Youth Development Program is seeking workshop proposals for the 2018 Culturally-based Youth Leadership Accelerators, known as Maize. The retreat which celebrates Latino and Native American cultures will be held April 13-15, 2018.

The third annual Iowa Small Farms Conference will be held on February 10, 2018, at the Scheman Building at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. Speakers will highlight topics that include farm finances, hops production, gardening, wildlife habitat, beekeeping and much more. Offering a wealth of information on a wide variety of topics, the goal of this one-day conference is that attendees gain valuable insight on enterprise options and acreage management strategies.
