The April issue of “Words on Wellness,” a nutrition and fitness newsletter provided as a public service by Warren County ISU Extension and the College of Human Sciences. Every month, Words on Wellness features short, research-based articles—news you can use—on the topics of nutrition, food safety, physical activity, and wellness. Each issue offers a low-cost healthy recipe and an announcement about a health-related ISU Extension class or program or service.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, Region 13, is seeking qualified candidates for one (1) Human Sciences Specialist position to be filled at the Field Specialist I or II level. The position will focus on Family Finances within Human Sciences, which includes family finance education, financial literacy, money management strategies, and family resource management. The position will promote Extension engagement and education with individuals, families and communities.

Iowa State Universtiy Extension and Outreach, is seeking qualified candidates for two (2) Human Sciences Specialist positions to be filled at the Field Specialist I or II level. The position will focus on Nutrition and Wellness within Human Sciences. The position will promote Extension engagement and education with youth, families, businesses and communities.

Warren County will offer the Ornamental and Turfgrass Applicators Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The program can be seen at locations across Iowa through the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) team.

20,000 Meals from the Heartland

Nothing brings people together quite like working shoulder to shoulder in hairnets and packaging 20,000 meals in an hour. During a Meals from the Heartland service project, ISU Extension and Outreach was networking with a purpose to fight hunger.
