Implementing Your Program
A new educational program or modifications to an existing program should first be piloted in a comparable setting with similar participants to where the full-fledged educational program will occur. Piloting an educational program increases the likelihood educational/instructional activities are delivered as anticipated by trained staff or volunteers. Before being delivered to scale, intentional program piloting also provides critical information regarding staff members’ adherence to content delivery practices and processes, participants’ understanding of educational content, appropriateness of selected evaluation tools, and alignment of an educational program’s learning objectives with participants’ changes in knowledge, actions, or life condition.
