Iowa State University Extension and Outreach - Polk County, welcomes Marisol Molstre to the Polk County team as the new Marketing Strategist.

ISU Extension and Outreach will hold a Preserve the Taste of Summer workshop on Saturday, August 25th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

July 31, 2018

Iowa Learning Farms, in partnership with Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District and Iowa Corn, will host a wetland and saturated buffer field day on Wednesday, August 22nd from 5:30-7:30pm at Tim Minton farm, rural Dallas Center. The event is free and open to the whole family and includes a complimentary meal.

The 79th annual Polk County Fair was held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds July 18-23. There were 665 youth who participated in 4-H, FFA, and Open Class youth exhibits and livestock shows. The fair took place in the 4-H Building, Sheep Barn, Horse Barn, and Jacobson Buildings. It would not have been as successful without the devoted volunteers and generous sponsors.

Building Healthy Relationships

When a couple has a strong, stable relationship, they can build a healthy foundation for their family. That’s the message of Healthy Relationship Education Training. ISU Extension and Outreach recently offered the training to Iowa State ROTC students who will serve as leaders in the military after graduation.
