Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is currently accepting applicants for the Robotics, STEM and Cooking & the Arts Summer Educators. These three individuals will serve Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien and Cherokee Counties from May 17, 2021 through August 6, 2021. Submit cover letter, resume and three professional references to Beth Bunkers at bbunkers@iastate.edu by Monday, November 30.

Registration is now open for the Nov. 4 and 5 virtual 2020 Applied Reproductive Strategies in Beef Cattle Workshop. This program targets commercial and seedstock producers, artificial insemination industries, and veterinarians interested in reproductive management and associated genetic tools. “Reproduction is the most economically important trait for cow-calf producers,” said Beth Doran, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach beef specialist. “Thus, reproductive management choices and implementation are critical to profitability.”

PRIMGHAR, Iowa –What About Me? My Wellbeing” is a four-week educational workshop series being offered virtually beginning Nov. 3 by the local Iowa State University Extension and Outreach office of O’Brien County. Each workshop is 45 minutes and begins at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 10, 17 and 24. The research-based program is free to participate in and focuses on taking time for oneself, relationships, finances and physical health. The program reminds participants that wellbeing is not something to achieve and check off a bucket list. It is an ongoing journey that varies with each person and situation.

The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Dairy Team monthly webinar series continues on Wednesday, Oct. 21 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. The program “What does this season’s corn silage look like?” features a presentation from Neal Wininger, Feed and Forage Consultant, Dairyland Labs Arcadia, Wisconsin. Wininger will discuss what the lab analysis from this year's corn silage samples are telling him about the quality of the crop and what producers can anticipate about how it will convert into milk in the tank.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, The Siouxland and Tri-State Agricultural Lenders Seminars have been combined into one virtual seminar set for Tuesday, November 10 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lenders who serve agricultural clients - especially those who work with dairymen across the Upper Midwest - are encouraged to attend as the seminar will focus on market outlooks for livestock, grains and dairy, plus include a focus on exports and trade issues.
