Floods are one of the most common, and most costly, natural disasters. Preparing for flood situations can minimize injury to yourself and your family and speed the recovery process. These resources will help you prepare and recover from flooding situations.

On April 6th, 2019, ISU Extension and Outreach will host a workshop in Montgomery County for Home Based Food Operators.  Topics will include Iowa regulations and food safety.

Big changes in a child’s life, such as getting a sibling or moving to a new home, bring big transitions, as the child learns to adapt to the new situation. Although learning to manage big transitions is important for children’s development, learning to manage the small transitions of daily life is equally important, according to Kim Brantner, a human sciences specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

On Their Own & OK
January 15, 2019

On Their Own and OK is designed to prepare young people to be home alone while a parent is away. This may be before school, after school, or a more extended period of time like summer vacation days. Topics covered include dealing with boredom, preparing snacks, and handling emergencies.
