Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and Dordt University collaborate to host STEAM Fest each year.
STEAM Fest is a day of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math interactive hands-on learning for youth in 4th through 8th grade. 4-H membership is not required.

- STEAM Fest, Junior: March 2024

STEAM Fest, Junior is open to 1st through 3rd graders. Youth are invited to spend the morning learning and having fun while participating in hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) activities hosted by the ISU Extension and Outreach Northwest Iowa Youth Development Team.

- Nose to Tail Animal Academy: April TBA, 2024

The workshop will focus on selection, showmanship, nutrition and health of livestock. Each youth will have the opportunity to participate in two livestock workshops and learn about agriculture advocacy.

- PLUNGE into 4-H Overnight Camp: April/May 2024

"PLUNGE into 4-H" is a middle school overnight camp where we focus on leadership development, communication and teamwork, trying new things, exploring opportunities, and giving back to others through community service. It is open to 6th, 7th and 8th graders.

ISU Extension and Outreach Lyon County hosts a variety of camps for youth each summer. Camps generally consist of hands-on interactive learning related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math, Robotics, Cooking, and the Arts.

- The 2024 Summer Camp Book provides a full listing of our camps in Lyon, Osceola, Sioux, O'Brien and Cherokee Counties. The booklet will be released in March 2024.

- Multi-County 4-H Swim/Skate: December 2023

Join other 4-H youth in grades 4-12 from around the area for a fun day of swimming, skating, food, friends and fun!

- Register at-the-door with $10 fee and waivers.
- 4-Hers must be enrolled in 4HOnline for the 2022-23 year.
- Non-4-Hers must bring a signed medical release form.
