Lyon County 4-H members are required to wear a current Lyon 4-H white or gray shirt to exhibit static or livestock. FFA members to wear an current year's FFA to exhibit. 4-H shirt order open until May 15. The Extension office keeps shirts on hand but cannot guarantee size and color if not pre-ordered.

Lyon County FFA and 4-H members follow all the same rules for the Lyon County Fair. For all information; see the Lyon County Fair Book or click on the specie department for specific documents.
The only exception is FFA members submit paper Animal/Pet/Livestock Identification Forms to the Extension Office; 4-H members submit in 4HONLINE.

Bucket Calf is for 4-Hers in 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
- See BUCKET CALF WORKBOOK below... Start record keeping on your calf once it’s been born or purchased.
- Complete Bucket Calf Rules listed in the current Lyon County Fair Book. A paper copy of the Fair Book is mailed to families.
- Calves must be born between February 1 to May 15.
- You must purchase a 4-H ear tag from the ISU Extension and Outreach Lyon County office in Rock Rapids for your calf, $1.00 each.
- The calves must be ear tagged & identified by May 15 in 4HOnline.
