Lee County will hold a record book workshop on Monday February 19th from 9-12 at the Lee County Extension Office! Open to all ages! For more info or to sign up call the Extension Office at 319-835-5116.

Confinement site manure applicators should plan to attend a two-hour workshop offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to maintain or renew their confinement site manure applicator certification. The Lee County workshop will be offered on February 8th, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Lee County Extension, 414 N Main Street, Donnellson, Iowa.

Live Healthy Lee County is a collaborative effort between community partners to educate Lee County residents on area walking trails, healthy eating habits, and how to live a healthier lifestyle. As part of this initiative, a Live Healthy Lee County Local Food Guide will be printed and distributed to over 2000 Lee County citizens and visitors for the 2017 growing season and posted online for download. This guide will include local food or beverage producers, farmers markets, food pantries, and restaurants and grocery stores that sell and support local foods regularly.

Summit: Youth Share Stories for Social Justice

Iowa youth shared their stories about social justice during a youth summit focused on service and honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Difficult conversations led to friendship and determination to work together for a better future and a better Iowa. ISU Extension and Outreach’s 4-H program was a sponsor of the event.
