CRAWFORDSVILLE, Iowa – Farmers, farmer advisors and the general public are invited to attend the Iowa State University Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm’s fall field day on Sept. 6 beginning at 1:30 p.m.

AMES, Iowa – On September 24th, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is offering training on “Your Money, Your Goals,” a financial empowerment toolkit that provides frontline workers with resources and tools to help their clients take steps towards financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Wellbeing isn’t something to achieve and check off a bucket list. Instead, it’s an ongoing journey that varies with each person. Iowans can find their own way in a new program from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Lee County. 
 
“What About Me? My Wellbeing” is a four-week educational workshop series beginning October 23rd in Keokuk.  The introductory, research-based program covers taking time for oneself, relationships, finances and physical health. Each workshop is 45 minutes and begins at noon at the Hoerner YMCA. The remaining workshops are set for October 30th and November 6th and 13th.  Lunch will be provided by the Hoerner YMCA.

Chloe Hoenig of West Point, IA spent the last two weeks at the ninth annual United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) sponsored, AgDiscovery program hosted by Iowa State University (ISU) in Ames IA.  She was one of 16 high school students selected from 57 applicants from 12 different states and territories around the country who applied to the Iowa State University program.  Congratulations, Chloe!  Chloe will be a Junior at Fort Madison High School this coming school year and plans to attend Iowa State University’s Veterinarian Program after high school.

Building Healthy Relationships

When a couple has a strong, stable relationship, they can build a healthy foundation for their family. That’s the message of Healthy Relationship Education Training. ISU Extension and Outreach recently offered the training to Iowa State ROTC students who will serve as leaders in the military after graduation.
