TOGETHER WE ARE MAKING A DIFFERENCE FOR ALL YOUTH

 

Current volunteer openings:

  • 4-H Afterschool Adventures is looking for 2-3 individuals interested in helping for two hours/week at our Washington Elementary program. Assist our Youth Outreach Educator to deliver educational content in a safe environment. Help promote positive development through age-appropriate activities for children in grades K-1. This is a great opportunity for high school students, 4-H alumni, stay-at-home parents, retired educators, and YOU!
  • Jefferson County 4-H is looking for 1-2 individuals to lead a Clover Kids group. These volunteers promote positive development for children ages K-3 through cooperative learning and developmentally appropriate practices. They provide opportunities for youth to practice five life skills: self-understanding, social interaction, decision-making, learning to learn, and mastering physical skills. Time commitment is approximately 2-3 hours/month.

Policymakers, agriculture lenders, agriculture suppliers and producers all are trying to determine supply, demand and commodity and livestock prices.  Land prices appear to have stabilized for the near term. Excellent yields in most areas of the Midwest and decreased trade with China continue to keep prices depressed. Managing costs and decreasing margins is an area where today’s producer turns to their lender, input supplier, Extension, neighbor and other agricultural business professionals for advice.
