ServSafe® - Certified Food Protection Manager Course

Whether you are a food service manager or an employee, using current best practices in safe food handling is essential to keep your food establishment in compliance and protect the health of both customers and staff. You’ll have the opportunity to take an exam to be certified as a Food Protection Manager.

Intended audience: Food service managers and employees

Format: One 6-hour course plus certification exam

Certification: Upon successfully passing the exam, certified by the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation as a Food Protection Manager

Cost: $160 per person ($110 for Iowa Restaurant Association members)

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 3 WEEKS BEFORE THE CLASS BEGINS. This deadline allows registered participants to receive their ServSafe book and class materials in the mail prior to the start of class. No exceptions.


ServSafe® - Food Handler Training

Food safety is a critical issue for the restaurant and foodservice industry. In this workshop you will be introduced to the basics of safe food handling - personal hygiene, time and temperature control, cross-contamination, and cleaning and sanitizing.

Intended audience: Food handlers employed in foodservice (non-managerial capacity)

Format: One 2-hour workshop

ServSafe® Food Handler is not offered as a certification program; nor does the training meet requirements for Certified Food Protection Manager designation.

ServSafe Food Safety Training in Maquoketa

Register by March 21

ServSafe Food Safety Training is a certification for foodservice managers and workers. The course meets the Certified Food Protection Manager (CFPM) requirements.
The class will be held in Maquoketa at Jackson County Extension and Outreach on Tuesday, April 11 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lunch is on your own.

Registration fee is $160, with $50 off for Iowa Restaurant Association members with current membership verified at registration.
