Private Pesticide Applicator Training Registration:

Due to COVID-19, additional Private Pesticide Applicator Training sessions are being offered.  
 
We will be offering the training with a two hour video that will be shown at our office for class sizes up to 15 people. 
Pre-registration is required, walk-ins will not be allowed due to the smaller class sizes.  Masks will also be required.
 
Due to COVID-19, we will no longer be able to offer coffee, etc. but you are welcome to bring your own pop, water, or coffee.

At this time we are also planning for a session at Zion Lutheran Church in Humboldt for February 9, 1:30pm-3:30pm.  There is a chance this could change depending on the pandemic, so please watch here for updates.  To accomodate social distancing, we will be limiting this event to 40 participants.  Pre-registration is required.

Job Opening: Program Coordinator

Humboldt County Extension and Outreach is accepting applications for a full-time Program Coordinator.  
 
Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, excellent communication skills, up-to-date computer and social media skills, and the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
 
To be guaranteed consideration, cover letter, application, and resume due by January 18, 2021 to the attention of Kim Axne at the Humboldt County Extension and Outreach office.

How can I be sure my retirement funds will last my lifetime? 

This important question will be addressed in an Iowa State University Extension and Outreach workshop offered online four times this winter, including three evening options and one daytime option:

 Thursdays, Jan 21 and 28, 6:30-8:30pm

Tuesdays, February 9 and 16, 12-2:00pm

Mondays, March 22 and 29, 6:30-8:30pm

Thursdays, April 22 and 29, 6:30-8:30pm

All currently certified commercial manure applicator licenses will expire on March 1, 2021. Commercial applicators can attend training throughout the year, but if they were previously certified, they should plan to attend training and submit the forms and fees to DNR prior to March 1, 2021, to avoid paying the late fees.

The course will provide continuing instruction credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in category 4. Topics covered will include application equipment use, maintenance, and calibration, safe application techniques, and pests, pest management and pesticides.
