YQCA

In today's world, food safety is one of animal producers' biggest responsibilities. With over 15,000 Iowa 4-H'ers enrolled in livestock projects, about 17 million pounds of meat is produced each year.

The goal of this program is to help youth and their parents better understand what they can do to produce the safest food possible.

YQCA Modules are OPEN!

4-H'ers exhibiting livestock (beef, dairy, meat goat, poultry, rabbit, sheep, swine) at the county and state fairs are required to be YQCA certified each year. And it must be completed by July 1st!

All 2024 Henry County YQCA $12 fees have been paid for/covered by a generous donation in memory of long-time Fair Board member, Joe Vantiger.

Exhibitors must do one of the following to obtain a coupon code to waive the $12 prior to starting the online course

  • Stop by the Henry County Extension office during normal business hours
  • Call the office at 319-385-8126
  • Email Erin Heaton at eheaton@iastate.edu

4-H members who are 12 or 15  years old also have the option of testing out for the next three year. This intermediate test out is $36 and the senior test out is $48.
