The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics theme this March encourages everyone to "Go Further with Food" by storing food correctly to reduce waste and lower your grocery bill during National Nutrition Month® in March.
About 31 percent of all edible food is wasted in the U.S., and American households throw away nearly 28 percent of fruits and vegetables. Food is the number one source of solid waste in American landfills. Food waste is not only bad for the environment, but it also means wasted money for your family.

Alejandro Plastina, Extension Ag Economist and Melissa O’Rourke, Attorney/Farm Management Specialist will speak at the annual meeting of the Northeast Iowa Agricultural Experimental Association (NEIAEA) at the Borlaug Learning Center, ISU Northeast Research Farm, Nashua. Plastina will address “Current Financial Situations for Agricultural Producers in Iowa”. O’Rourke will discuss “Critical Importance of Farm Succession Planning”.
The meeting starts at 9:30 a.m. at the Borlaug Learning Center on the ISU Northeast Research Farm, is free and open to the public. 

The morning sessions quality for two free CCA credits in Crop Management.  Provided free at the meeting is the 2017 Research Farm Report.

The annual meeting of the North Central Iowa Research Association and educational program of the ISU Northern Research Farm will take place on March 7 at the Duncan Hall meeting room near Britt, Iowa. Duncan Hall is located 4.5 miles east of Britt on the south side of Highway 18. The street address for Duncan Hall is 2337 Nation Avenue, Britt, IA 50423.

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach will host a three-hour class for anyone interested in being certified to sell morel mushrooms legally within the state of Iowa. The workshop will be held on three consecutive Saturdays in April on the Iowa State University campus.
