Greene County Fair
July 9-15, 2024
This is an opportunity for 4-H Youth to participate in several project areas such as livestock, static, clothing, and communications. During this time they will showcase their hard work from the year. The community is invited to attend and support these youth!
Important Deadlines!
- May 15: Livestock ID due for Beef, Sheep, Goat, Swine, Horse, and Dog
- May 15: YQCA Certification due for Beef, Sheep, Goat, Swine, Rabbit, and Poultry Exhibitors (Clover kids do not need to do this)
- June 15: Stalling Form due for all animal species (Both Clover Kid and 4-H'ers)
- June 15: Clover Kid Animal Entry
- July 1: Rabbit and Poultry ID Due
- July 1: State Fair Entries Due

This is an opportunity for kids to share their talents or passions with an audience. This is for the pure enjoyment of the audience have fun and be creative and even have a chance to showcase your talents at the Iowa State Fair if selected!
- Working Exhibits

This is a communication activity that promotes the teaching and sharing of a new activity or skill. They will teach a group of kids how to make something, or teach a new skill. It may even be something for the child to take home. Selected participants will have the opportunity to compete at the state fair.

This communication exhibit promotes the use of Iowa food products in food preparation and develops the communication skills of explaining and demonstrating a recipe as a team. In the team demonstration, two 4-Hers will demonstrate a chosen recipe as a team. One 4-Her explains the recipe process while another demonstrates the process at the same time. Qualified participants will have the opportunity to compete at Clay County Fair.

This is a fun way to learn how to properly set a table, plan nutritious meals, express originality and creativity in choosing a theme, present to a judge, express knowledge of food, nutrition, and food safety, and have fun in planning a special occasion meal for entertaining.
