Greene County Extension is hosting a series of Ag Coffee events, bringing farmer and other Ag Professionals together for an informal discussion on current Ag topics. Join us January 24th, 2020, from 9:30 – 11:00 am at the Extension office, for coffee, donuts, and “Local on Farm Demonstration Trials” with Mike Witt, ISU Extension & Outreach Field Agronomist.

AMES, Iowa---Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR), will offer manure applicator certification workshops for dry/solid manure operators on six different dates and locations in February. These workshops meet manure applicator certification requirements for both confinement site manure applicators and commercial manure applicators who primarily apply dry or solid manure

AMES, Iowa -- Confinement site manure applicators and anyone interested in learning about manure issues should plan to attend a two-hour workshop offered by Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in January or February 2020. These workshops are offered in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. There is no fee to attend the workshops, but applicators will need to pay certification fees to complete certification requirements.

Commercial manure applicators should plan to attend the Commercial Manure Applicator training program scheduled for Wednesday, January 8, 2020, from 9 a.m. to noon. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will conduct the required three-hour training workshop at that time. There is no fee to attend the workshop, but commercial applicators must register by Dec. 27th by contacting the ISU Extension Greene County Extension office at 515-386-2138.

The Greene County Godzillas LEGO League team competed at the Regional Iowa FIRST LEGO League Qualifer in Glidden on Saturday, December 7, 2019. Team members are 5th-8th graders enrolled at Greene County Community School District. Participants include Aden Bardole, Nehemiah Hoyt, Gavin VanderLinden and Lucy VanderLinden. Coaches are Jason Smith and Wendy VanderLinden.
