Come paint a wood sign with Diann Minion as your teacher on Thursday, December 6th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm! Use it as decor for your house, your room, fair project -- you name it. Adults are welcome to paint with Emmet County 4-H'ers too!

The 12 Mile Lakers 4-H Club is challenging all other Emmet County 4-H Clubs to a food drive to fill the Emmet County Food Pantry for the holidays! All donations will be collected and counted at the 4-H Awards & Carnival on Sunday, November 25th.

The 2018 Emmet County 4-H Awards Night will be Sunday, November 25th at the Forest Ridge School in Gruver, Iowa. The Carnival activities will begin at 6:00 p.m. for people of all ages to enjoy, and the Awards Ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m.  This is a chance to acknowledge the hard work that 4-H’ers, leaders and volunteers put into making Emmet County’s 4-H program remarkably strong throughout the year.

The Summer Youth Assistant will be responsible for assisting or leading 4-H and Youth activities in Emmet County. This individual must be reliable, detail oriented, problem solver, self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of teams of staff and volunteers.

Beef producers are reminded that by Jan. 1, 2019 they must have a current Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) certificate in order to sell cattle to certain packers. To help producers comply with this requirement, Iowa State University (ISU) Extension and Outreach, Iowa Beef Center and Iowa Beef Industry Council are offering a series of “year-end” trainings in Northwest Iowa.
