ISU Extension and Outreach-Des Moines County seeks outgoing, creative, and energetic individual with strong technology, and marketing skills to work in a supportive team environment.  Effective communication and public relation skills.  Ability to coordinate educational programs. Experience with extension programming, handling organizational tasks. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 4-H Community Dinner

The Des Moines County 4-H Community Dinner and Live Auction will be held as a fundraiser to support the Des Moines County 4-H Program. Please join us Thursday evening, March 14th, 2019, with the dinner served from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The dinner will be held at the Barn on the Ridge, 14133 Irish Ridge Road, Burlington, Iowa.

If you are a Food Service Manager or worker and need to be certified for food safety, we have a class for you!  The classes in our area are in February, March, April, May, and June.  Registration and payments are now online!

Fruits and vegetables

If you are a fruit and vegetable grower or interested in learning about produce safety, the Food Saety Modernization Act (FSMA) Produce Safety Rule, Good Agricultural Practices (GAPs), and co-management of natural resourced and food safety, we have a class for you! 11 meetings will be held across the state during the Fall of 2018 and Winter of 2019. A training will be held in Burlington at the Great Prairie AEA (3601 West Avenue) on Thursday, March 7, 2019.
