Health is often the key factor in whether people can remain in their home as they grow older. Beginning Feb. 17, ISU is offering a free online series to help Iowans remain healthy and independent as they age. The free, online Stay Independent: A Healthy Aging Series provides practical, useful and budget-friendly tips focused on helping Iowans reach the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for adults ages 60 years and older.

February 3, 2021

Horse owners and enthusiasts will have an opportunity to learn more about management of equine during a monthly webinar series. Beginning Feb. 11, ISU Extension and Outreach will provide a series of short virtual meetings over four months. The webinar topics include nutrition, the importance of soil for pasture and hay, weed control and environmental management.

February 3, 2021

ISU Extension and Outreach will provide virtual Mental Health First Aid trainings throughout spring 2021. Participants will learn a five-step action plan will be taught to guide participants through the process of reaching out and offering appropriate support.

ISU Extension and Outreach and Farm Foundation are cooperating on Iowa Farm Family Wellness Alliance to bring free wellness resources to farm families during these continuing tough times.. Pre-paid, ongoing wellness coaching and counseling services are now available to all Iowa farm families. Families can get confidential support for a variety of life events via phone, text, live chat, video or app.
