Providing research-based education to K-12 youth, Iowa 4-H focuses on Healthy Living, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), Leadership and Civic Engagement, and Communication and the Arts. Details
Experience 4-H day will be 9-10 am on Saturday, March 4th at the community building. There will be booths highlighting the different project areas in 4-H and members to answer any questions. Some areas include insight into horse showing and leasing a horse, dog care, rabbit care, showmanship, fun make and takes like catapults, food, and nutrition, how to succeed at communication day, and several others! There will also be food, a hot cocoa bar, and prizes!''
Open to anyone interested in learning more about 4-H. You do not need to be a member.

DALLAS COUNTY SWINE EXHIBITORS:
Erysipelas vaccination is required for all swine that will be exhibited at the 2023 Dallas County Fair. The first dose should be given by April 15th. We have a bottle on hand at the Extension Office (you will need to provide your own NEW/CLEAN needles & syringe) You can also pick up your county and state fair 4-H tags.

Sheep and Goat Weigh-In - May 7th @ Dallas County Fairgrounds 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM
Market sheep and goat weigh-in for the 2023 Dallas County Fair will be on Saturday, May 7th 8:00-10:00 a.m. at the Dallas County Fairgrounds.All market sheep and goats must be weighed-in at this time. All reproductively in-tact male sheep and male goats must be castrated or banded BEFORE unloading at the weigh-in.
All breeding and market animals that will be shown at the state fair must attend weigh-in to be retinal imaged. ALL sexually intact sheep and goats must be identified with an official scrapie tag or official scrapie tattoo registered with USDA.

Climbing wall, archery, swimming, campfires, challenge courses, furry animals, skits and so much more!
Youth who have completed 4th-7th grade in the spring of 2023 are eligible to attend Thursday, June 8th — Saturday, June 10th.
Youth who have completed Kindergarten-3rd grade in the spring of 2023 are eligible to attend Friday, June 9th — Saturday, June 10th.
ALL YOUTH WELCOME, 4-H/Clover Kids enrollment is not required, so bring a friend!
Cost is $90 per Clover Kid age camper, $160 per 4-H age camper.

Communications Day is an event for youth in, K-12th grade to give a presentation or working exhibit. If selected you have a chance to take your project to the Iowa State Fair.
