Every June, almost 900 teenagers converge on the campus of Iowa State University for 3 days full of speakers, workshops, mixers, dances, a banquet, and community service activities.

Market lamb and goat weigh-in will be Saturday, May 5th starting at 8:00 AM and continue through 10:00 AM. The weigh in will take place by the scale house at the Crawford County Fairgrounds. All market lambs and market goats that will show at any 4-H fair must be weighed in at this time. Retinal images will be take for all sheep (market and breeding—commercial and purebred) and all goats (market and breeding) that will be shown at the Iowa State Fair and AKSARBEN. Animals must be brought to weigh –in to be retinal imaged. The fee for retinal imaging is $5 per head.

The Maize Retreat provides youth in grades 8-12 the opportunity to explore the Iowa 4-H Youth Development Program and Iowa State University.  Youth participants from across Iowa will gather to experience 4-H Healthy Living, STEM, Civic Engagement, Leadership, and Communication and the Arts programs through a Latino and Native American perspective.
