Crawford County ISU Extension & Outreach is seeking applicants for a temporary position (40 hours per week) for the summer of 2021.

Duties will include: clerical tasks, assistance with 4-H activities and summer youth camps as well as assistance with the 4-H events at the Crawford County Fair.

Qualifications: excellent verbal and written skills, computer skills, experience in organizing activities and working with groups, knowledge and experience as a member or volunteer with the 4-H program, high school graduate or equivalent.  Must have a valid driver’s license with access to reliable transportation and pass a background screening.

Audubon, Carroll, Crawford, Harrison, Guthrie, Greene and Shelby Counties are offering a livestock workshop for all ages of 4-Her’s. All individuals new to showing are encouraged to attend. Participate in livestock judging & quiz bowl! The workshop will take pace on Saturday April 24 from 9:00-noon or 1:00-4:00. The workshop will be in Audubon at the county fairgrounds. The Crawford County extension office will cover the $10 registration fee.

Gardening to Give Image
March 19, 2021

Iowa 4-H Youth Development will launch Gardening to Give, a hands-on educational gardening program designed for all ages and abilities, on March 15. Registered participants receive educational resources monthly during this eight-month, immersive learning experience. This marks year two for Gardening to Give after the program reached over 1,000 individuals across Iowa and the United States in its first year.

The ISU Extension & Outreach Office will be offering a storywalk  in downtown Denison before the St. Patrick's Day Parade on      Saturday, March 13. The storywalk will open at 11:00 and end just before the parade starts. Stop at the store fronts of the businesses  below and read The Luckiest St. Patrick's Day Ever!   Everyone is welcome and all participants will receive a punch card to get punched along the way. The first twenty five families that present their card  at the Library will get to take home a copy of the book!
