Welcome to the Iowa Municipal Professionals Institute and Academy!

Institute: February 10-12 (winter), July 19-22 (summer), October 6-8 (fall) | Academy: July 28-30

The 2021 Institute will have a new format.  Courses will be held throughout the year in both an online and in-person format.  In-person instruction will be held in Ames at the Gateway Center July 19-22, 2021.

The Institute will be held in-person from July 19-22, 2021 and online in February 10-12, 2021 and October 6-8, 2021.  The Academy will be held in-person from July 28-30, 2021.  If you have registered for any courses, you will receive an email notification from Talent LMS one to two weeks before classes with information about logging on.  All of your course information including powerpoints, handouts, and links to the class will be on the Talent LMS site. You will need to know your IMFOA ID as that will be your login information. 

The virtual sections of Institute will be held in a LIVE and INTERACTIVE format.  Courses will not be recorded as webinars that you can watch when available, you will be required to be online and interacting as a part of the certification process.   Please be sure to check the times of your courses as course links will close 15 minutes after classes start.

The first round of the virtual Municipal Professionals Institute starts with the winter session, February 10, 2021!  Registration is open and can be found on the Institute page.
 

General Technology Requirements for virtual courses:
You will need to have a laptop or desktop computer with a video/camera option.  Cell phones will NOT are not an option for participation in virtual classes to gain credit. You will be required to speak or ask questions in courses, you may even be called on randomly, so have access to headphones or a microphone as well.  Please contact Sara Shonrock at sshonroc@iastate.edu or 515-294-1844 if you have concerns about your equipment so we can find a way to make sure you are involved.
