Bottle Bucket Interviews will be held on Sunday, June 25 at the Cedar County Extension Office. See below for more information.
The 2023 Cedar County fair will be held July 12-16. Static judging will be July 10, 2023.
All Cedar County Fair Exhibitors (4-H & FFA) must enter livestock and non-livestock entries through Fair Entry from May 22-June 15. You will need to login using your 4hOnline account information.

Livestock Exhibit Information
Livestock Exhibiting Requirements
Due by June 30th without late fees, one form per exhibitor.
- Animal Care and Management Disclosure Statements

These need to be turned in at fair check-in time - not before.
- Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA)
-
All youth who will be exhibiting beef, dairy (cattle and goats), meat goats, poultry, rabbits, sheep and swine at the Cedar County or Iowa State Fair are required to complete YQCA (Youth for the Quality Care of Animals) certification prior to July 1. Email your certificate to Lorim@iastate.edu by July 1.
- YQCA - All grades: online testing cost is $12 (be sure to print and email me your certificate), sign in with your 4hOnline log in.
- Face-to-Face YQCA training dates are May 3 and June 7 at the Cedar County Extension office. Register online at yqcaprogram.org

- Take the Showmanship Test to practice for Fair.
- ARBA National Show - ARBA (American Rabbit Breeders Association) is the national club for rabbit and cavy breeders. This national club sets the official breed standards for the rabbit and cavy breeds. Every few years ARBA publishes a detailed guide, the Standard of Perfection. Each year ARBA members organize a national show where rabbit and cavy breeds compete. This national show is held within the United States and ARBA members travel to exhibit their rabbits and cavies from all parts of the world.

- 2023 Rabbit Clinics will be held June 28 and June 29, 6-7pm in the swine barn on the Cedar County Fairgrounds.

- 2023 IJBBA Breed Requirements
- Cedar County Market Beef Carcass Contest sponsored by the Cedar County Cattlemen - all calves needed to be weigh-in in at the Dec. 17 weigh-in; Calves will be checked in on Sunday, July 16, followed by live show, and loading out at 1:30pm; Results will be shared at a later date with Premium being paid to the Top 5 ($150, $125, $100, $75, $50); Calves are not required to be halter broke for the live show on Sunday but it would be nice. These calves may also be shown in the Market Beef Show on Saturday.
