What is 4-H?
4-H is a community of 6 million young people across the world who are learning leadership, citizenship, and life skills to make good decisions for their future and their communities’ future. 4-H focuses on healthy living, leadership and civic engagement, science and technology, and communication and the arts through school programs, camps, events, and clubs.
Why Join 4-H?
Try new things you never thought you could do. Learn new things you didn’t even know existed. Make new friends with others you never thought you would get to know. Support your community in ways you didn’t know possible. Grow into the person you want to be.

Who can Join 4-H?
Any 4th-12th grader is eligible to join 4-H.
4-H is a place for future writers, scientists, musicians, farmers, doctors, politicians, ranchers, artists, gardeners, child caretakers, lawyers, chefs, mechanics, fashion designers, volunteers, carpenters, teachers, business professionals, and successful, contributing members of society.
Our typical enrollment period is from September 15th through May 15th.

Who can Join: Clover Kids?
Clover Kids is a fun 4-H program specifically designed for our children in kindergarten through third grade.
The overall purpose of the Iowa 4-H Clover Kids program is to foster the development of life skills that are essential for the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical maturation of kindergarten through third graders by providing a unique, age-appropriate educational opportunity.

FEE is $20 paid to Black Hawk County Extension, In Black Hawk County, students K-3rd grade can become a Clover Kids at no cost. Youth 4th-12th grade can join for $20.00, thanks to the support of the annual Omelet Breakfast event. Financial Aid is available. Please Call for more info, (319)234-6811
