Summer Programs

2023 Appanoose County 4-H Summer Day Camps

We are excited to bring back Appanoose County 4-H Summer Day Camps for 2023. We have an awesome line up of day camp offerings planned that will be taking place throughout the summer that you aren't going to want to miss out on!

We have a variety program offerings available for K-7th graders; these day camps are open to Appanoose County 4-H and Clover Kids along with non-members. Check out our Day Camp Flyers for more information!

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN.

  • To register you will need to complete the attached registration form and turn it and the payment into the Appanoose County Extension Office to guarantee your spot. Due to the our meeting room space each offering will be limited to the first 12 participants that turn in their completed registration form and payment. We will be limiting day camp participation to 2 offerings per child throughout the summer. If your child would like to attend more than 2 they will be placed on a waiting list for the additional camps and be contacted if the spots are not filled.

Gardening Day Camp

Gardening | Fee: $5.00

  • Monday, May 15th, 2023 (K-3rd) from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.
  • Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 (4th-6th) from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m.


Learn how small seeds turn into big plants! Participants will get to learn the basics of how seeds grow, plant seeds in a pot they decorated to take home and make a snack using ingredients out of a garden!

Dinosaurs Day Camp

Dinosaurs | Fee: $5.00

Travel back in time with us as we discover dinosaurs! We'll explore fossils that were left behind, learn about paleontologists, and maybe dig up some dinosaur bones!

Have you ever been to a fair, festival, or amusement park? Step right up and try your hand at midway games, roller coaster challenges, and more during this fun-filled amusement park themed day camp!

Are you up for a good mystery? Come help us solve "The Case of the Barefoot Burglar"! We will teach the essentials about being a spy and learn about the different kinds of fingerprints!

At this Day Camp, you will learn basic food preparations, safety around the kitchen and how to follow a recipe while making lunch!
