4-H Scholarship Information

Allamakee County 4-H Scholarship, March 1, 2024 (Updated December 21, 2023)

The Allamakee Count Youth Development Committee sponsors the Allamakee County 4-H scholarships which are available to graduating seniors in the class of 2024. Those applying for the county 4-H scholarship must submit a completed application, 4-H Record Book and (2) letters of support to the Allamakee County Extension Office by Friday, March 1, 2024. The Allamakee County 4-H Scholarship committee will conduct interviews in late March to award scholarships, these will be presented at your schools scholarship awards program in the spring.

You must meet the following criteria and submit requested forms to be eligible.
1.     A completed Allamakee 4-H College Scholarship Application Form and return to the Extension Office with 4-H Record Book.
2.     Two letters of support from: a) a school advisor or teacher, b) community member or an adult 4‑H volunteer, relative to leadership, citizenship and character of the applicant.
3.     Participate in a brief interview. (Tentatively scheduled for March 2024)
4.     You must be a graduating senior in the current year.
5.     You must be a current Allamakee County 4-H member with a history of exhibiting at the Allamakee County Fair and your membership must run consecutively for at least 3 years.

Iowa 4-H Foundation

Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarships March 1, 2024 (updated December 2023)

The Iowa 4-H Foundation has over 80 scholarships available ranging from $500 to $5,000 available for graduating high school seniors in 2024 or those who are continuing their undergrad education in the fall of 2024. These are available to anyone attending a university, private college and/or a community college.

The application period for the Iowa 4-H Foundation Scholarships is December 1, 2023 through March 1, 2024. For more information please visit:

Allamakee County Fairboard Scholarship

Allamakee Master Gardener

Allamakee County Master Gardener Scholarship, February 28, 2024 (updated December 22, 2023)
Deadline to apply is February 28, must have application and letter of recommendation turned in.
The Allamakee County Master Gardeners are offering a $200 scholarship for anyone who is majoring in the field study related to; Arboriculture, horticulture, floriculture, landscape design/architecture, turf management, orchard management, and/or related subjects.
Applicants must be a current Allamakee County High School graduating senior or Allamakee County homeschool graduate who will be attending college/university/trade school in the Fall of 2024.

One scholarship will be awarded annually.

Allamakee County Cattlemen's Annual Scholarship

Allamakee County Cattlemen's Annual Scholarship (updated February 21, 2024)

· All applicants must be a current member of the FFA or 4-H or their parents members of the Allamakee Cattlemen’s Association.
· Scholarship will be awarded toward second semester of college tuition fees
· For graduating high school seniors only
· Applications must be emailed to Allamakee Co. Cattlemen @
tillhillcattle@gmail.com use a different email than your school email, after you graduate your school email will no longer work

· Applications due April 15, 2024
· Applicants must achieve a 2.5 or higher GPA to receive payment
· After completing your first semester if selected for scholarship email copy of your grades along with your new address for payment

Dairy Promotion Board

Allamakee County Dairy Promotion Board Scholarship, March 1, 2024 (Updated January 2024)
The Allamakee County Dairy Promotion Board is sponsoring a scholarship for residents of Allamakee County.  They may be a high school senior (enrolling in Dairy Science or an Agriculture Field of Study) or a college student who is currently enrolled in Dairy Science or an Agriculture Field of Study.  The amount of the each scholarship depends on the number and quality of applicants, up to $500 will be awarded.  Scholarship Guidelines & Application Deadline to apply is March 1.

Requirements
• Must live in Allamakee County
• Must be planning on studying Agriculture or Natural Resources at the collegiate level
The Scholarship program is funded by donations to the district conservation club. Scholarships are usually $500 each but can vary depending on number of applicants and available donation funds. We have presented scholarships totaling $16,500 over the last ten years!

Iowa Farm Bureau

Iowa Farm Bureau January 31, 2024 (updated December 2023)

Iowa Farm Bureau scholarships are available to current Iowa Farm Bureau members (and their children) who are in good standing with the organization. To be considered a student, must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be involved in extra-curricular activities and  accepted into an accredited higher education institute.
