Beginning Farmer Center

The Beginning Farmer Center coordinates education programs and services for beginning farmer efforts statewide, assess needs of beginning farmers and retiring farmers, develops, coordinates, and delivers targeted education to beginning and retiring farm families and provides programs and services that develop skills and knowledge in financial management and planning, legal issues, tax laws, technical production and management, leadership, sustainable agriculture, human health and the environment.

Women in Agriculture

The mission of the Women in Agriculture program is to improve the quality of life in Iowa by providing research-based educational programs that expand agricultural enterprise, improve natural resource management, and support the community of women in agriculture.

Center for Ag Law and Taxation

The Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation (CALT) at Iowa State University, was created by the Iowa Board of Regents in 2006.  It is a unit of Iowa State University, functions under ISU policies and rules and reports to the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.  The Center provides timely, objective, unbiased information to producers, professionals and agribusinesses concerning the application of important developments in agricultural law and taxation (federal and state legal opinions of relevance, as well as legislative developments), and serves as a primary source of professional educational training in agricultural law and taxation.

Farm Financial Planning Program

Farm Financial Planning is Iowa State University Extension and Outreach's farm financial analysis program. It consists of one-on-one financial counseling, a computerized analysis of the farm business, and referral to other extension programs or outside services that may be useful. Financial Associates are part-time extension employees with college degrees and special training in farm budgeting and financial analysis.
