Why are we S.A.D.? (Stressed, Anxious, and Depressed) What can we change? The struggle is real. Life can be very challenging! We balance many roles and responsibilities in our lives and, many times, we are a great care provider for EVERYONE else but ourselves! How we take care of ourselves and how we THINK about our life and circumstances has a strong impact on stress, anxiety and depression. 
Let’s talk, and re-learn healthy self-care tips, helpful coping skills and strategies that will also create a positive shift in our mood and outlook on life. 
Presented by Kari Hasemann-Herbert
Kari Hasemann-Herbert received her Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from UNL and her Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from UNO. She is a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), CMSW, and Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP).

Kari has held family and child welfare positions at Family Services of Lincoln, at the PACT Program (a parent training program for Child Protective Services families) and with Voices of Hope/Friendship Home working with families in crisis due to domestic violence. She also developed and was Coordinator of the Family Builders Therapeutic Foster Care Program in Norfolk, working with severely emotionally disturbed and conduct-disordered children and youth and their foster parents.

Kari has been an EAP counselor and trainer for 23 years at Directions Employee Assistance Program, where she is also the owner.

Kari has been a long-time member of the Nebraska State Critical Incident Response Team, and is also currently a member of the Nebraska State Foster Care Review Board.
