Managing for Today and Tomorrow: Farm Transition Planning | Ames, Iowa | Begins Monday, January 30, 2017
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag program is holding Managing for Today and Tomorrow: Farm Transition Planning, a five session course beginning Monday, January 30, 2017 in Ames, Iowa and continuing February 6, February 13, February 20 and February 27. Classes are from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. with a light meal served at Noon. The classes will be held at the Iowa Cattlemen's Association, 2055 Ironwood Court, Ames, Iowa. Cost is $75.
Women participate in agriculture in varying ways. This webinar will review county-level data and trend about women as farm operators and land owners in Iowa.
Agronomy in the Field is a series of workshops for women designed to improve agronomic skills and increase knowledge for decision-making. This program is being offered at three locations in 2016. Starting dates are approximate so be sure to register with the Extension Field Agronomist in your area.
Women Managing Cattle | West Des Moines, Iowa | Begins Wednesday, January 11, 2017
Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag program is holding Women Managing Cattle beginning Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in West Des Moines, Iowa and continuing January 18, January 25, and February 1. The classes will be held at DMACC West Campus, 5959 Grand Ave., West Des Moines, Iowa. Cost is $50.
Agronomy in the Field is a multi-session workshop being offered to women landowners, farmers, conservationists and other women who are interested in learning more about agronomy. This series of workshops will be held monthly at the Iowa State University McNay Memorial Research and Demonstration Farm near Chariton, Iowa. The farm is located at 45249 170th Ave, Chariton, IA 50049.
The first session will be held on April 19 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the topic will be grazing cover crops and managing cover crops in the spring. This session will be led by Erika Lundy, ISU Extension Beef Program Specialist and Rebecca Vittetoe, ISU Extension Field Agronomist.
Women Marketing Grain in Fort Dodge begins Monday, July 10, 2017
Agronomy in the Field is a series of workshops for women designed to improve agronomic skills and increase knowledge for decision-making. The Southeast co-hort is new this year and will meet twice a month beginning Monday, May 2nd from 4-5pm at the Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm.
