The Iowa State University Beginning Farmers Network (BFN) is a campus club that was created to allow beginning farmers here at Iowa State sharpen their personal skill with an opportunity to network and hear from excellent speakers at monthly meetings. BFN works closely with ISU Extension and Outreach and our Beginning Farmers Center. The annual Farmers Networking Conference BFN hosts was held on Saturday February 10, at the Schemen Building in Ames.
WASHINGTON, Iowa – Snow, sleet, or ice wasn’t going to stop 70 women from filling the lower level of Dallmeyer Hall at the Washington County Fairgrounds on March 24 for the second annual Women in Agriculture Conference.
The theme for the conference was “The Power of You.” Attendees heard from industry experts and advocates to learn the true power they have to inspire others, implement new ideas, and focus on the future of agriculture.
On Tuesday Nov. 28, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach’s Women in Ag Program will be holding its inaugural Leadership Conference. The primary session will be preceded by a series of intensive workshops that will be conducted on Monday Nov. 27.
The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag Leadership Conference will be held on November 26-27, 2018 at the Iowa State Center – Scheman Building in Ames, Iowa. The cost to participate in all conference activities and meals is $30.00 for students and $60.00 for all others. The conference theme is "The Conversations of Leadership."

Diane Young is the Owner and Director of Technical Services for Foundation Analytical Laboratory in Cherokee, Iowa. She graduated from Iowa State University in 1991 with degrees in both Agricultural Microbiology and Animal Science. Founded in 2009, the laboratory specializes in conducting analyses for for animal feed, food safety, water quality and biofuels. With over twenty years of experience in the food and science industry, Diane has worked to incorporate customer service values into the business in order to enhance the relationships they share with their clients.
