2023 Winneshiek County 4-H Scholarship
Winneshiek County Extension & Outreach is pleased to offer scholarships for Winneshiek County 4-H members. To apply for the Winneshiek County 4-H Scholarship please complete the application. You will be asked to attach a letter of recommendation from a 4-H leader as well as a 2 page essay sharing your 4-H experiences. Applications are due to the Winneshiek County Extension Office by March 1st.
2023 Erbie & Gerry Steffens Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship, in memory of Erbie and Gerry Steffens, is being offered for Winneshiek County youth. Both Erbie and Gerry were 4-H club leaders playing active roles in those careers and volunteered long after their children graduated. Erbie was also a past fair board member and was instrumental with his vision, fundraising and development of the Show Barn at the Winneshiek County Fairgrounds.
The recipient of this scholarship must be an incoming freshman or sophomore at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, IA, Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids, IA or Iowa State University, in Ames, IA, with plans to eventually pursue a degree in Agriculture or Pre-veterinary medicine. The applicant must have been a 4-H/FFA member and shown livestock at the Winneshiek County Fair for at least three years of the past four years to apply for the $1,000 scholarship. Livestock includes all species.
Applications are due by May 5th, 2023 to the Winneshiek County Extension Office.
