The University of Illinois, the University of Wisconsin, and Iowa State University will be conducting a Corn Rootworm Management Update webinar at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 26, 2021. The target audience is farmers, farm input suppliers, and independent crop consultants.

The Winniehiek Councty Extension and Outreach Office will be closing at NOON due to weather.  

January 19, 2021

Watershed research will be shared during an online series from the Iowa Nutrient Research Center at Iowa State University. The online events begin Jan. 27.

Statewide Resources

  • Coordinating education programs and service for beginning farmer efforts statewide and assessing the needs of beginning and retiring farmers. Providing support in financial management and planning, legal issues, tax laws, and many more services.

  • A look at the value of land in Iowa through annual survey results and additional resources for decision makers.

  • The Iowa Pork Industry Center promotes efficient pork production technologies in Iowa, maintains Iowa's pork industry leadership and strengthens rural development efforts.

  • Agricultural economics and business resources for farm business decision makers.

  • Providing timely, critically objective information to producers, professionals and agribusinesses concerning the application of important developments in agricultural law and taxation and a primary source of professional educational training in agricultural law and taxation.

  • One-on-one financial counseling, computerized analysis of the farm business, and referral to other extension programs or outside services that may be useful in farm financial planning.

  • The Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Farm, Food and Enterprise Development Program supports value-added agriculture enterprises, businesses and regional food systems through research, education and community engagement.

  • On a mission is to improve the quality of life in Iowa by providing research-based educational programs that expand agricultural enterprise, improve natural resource management, and support the community of women in agriculture. 

  • The Iowa Beef Center works to develop and deliver the latest in research-based information to improve the profitability and vitality of Iowa's beef industry.
