The Winneshiek County Extension Office will host a free, one-hour learning session for hunting, landowners, conservationists, and the general public on Chronic Wasting Disease. The program will help attendees understand Chronic Wasting Disease, management, mitigation, ecology, and testing for CWD.
Did you know Chronic wasting disease, or CWD, is a neurological disease infecting wild white-tailed deer in Iowa and other members of the Cervidae family in North America, including mule deer, elk, moose, and caribou?
The program will be taught by Heather Vetter, Chronic Wasting Disease Extension Specialist. The free program will take place on September 28th from 6:00 PM -7:00 PM at the Winneshiek County Extension Office located at 2316 Sweet Parkway Road, Decorah.
