How to get YQCA certified: 

YQCA  - website 

  • YQCA certification is required for 4-12 graders showing cattle, bunnies, birds, swine, sheep and goats.
    • Coupons for Winnebago County 4-H members will be available from your 4-H Club Leaders after April 15.
    • Certification is due June 15.
    • Please send a copy of your certification to the extension office before June 15.
      • Email can be sent to engstler@iastate.edu
      • Drop off a copy during business hours at the Winnebago County Extension Office in Thompson M-Th 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Iowa State Fair 

Winnebago County Fair  - Enter the Winnebago County Fair by 11:59pm June 15th 

Hancock County Fair  - Enter the Hancock County District Fair by 11:59pm July 1st 

FairEntry registration has changed dates! 

  • FairEntry registration will be open to Winnebago County from Thursday, May 16th - Saturday, June 15th. 
  • A $25 late fee per exhibitor will be charged for both static and livestock entries entered between Sunday, June 16th - Saturday, June 22nd. 
  • No late entries will be accepted after June 22nd. 

STATIC:

Static judging: will take place on Wednesday, July 17th from 4:00 to 7:00pm. ALL exhibits must be checked in by 6:30pm.

Horticulture judging: will continue to take place Thursday, July 18th. Check in time is from 9:00 to 10:30am. Judging will start at 10:30am.

LIVESTOCK: 

Ribbon Auction: All 4-H and FFA livestock exhibitors may sell one (1) ribbon per exhibitor per species, including horses and 4-12th grade Bucket/Bottle Calves. The ribbon can be your best ribbon for each species you show and can be a breeding or market animal ribbon.

Vet check will be from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 18. 

  • ALL LIVESTOCK will go through an on-trailer vet inspection point before unloading on the fairgrounds. 
  • ALL DOGS and CATS exhibited must have current rabies vaccination certificates. A copy of this certificate is due at the Winnebago County Extension Office by Monday, July 10. 

ALL livestock MUST be on grounds by 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 18 at the latest OR by the end of their species check in/weigh in time. 

Check In/Weigh-In Schedule at the Fair: 

Exhibitors are to be present at the designated weigh-in times:  

  • Beef: Thursday, July 18, 9:00 - 11:00 AM - weighed in the Pen of Three Barn. 
  • Sheep/Goats: Thursday, July 18, 10:00 AM - weighed in the Swine Barn 
  • Swine: Thursday, July 18, following sheep & goat weigh in at 10:00 AM in the Swine Barn. 
  • Poultry weigh-in and blood test: Thursday, July 18, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM 
  • Rabbit check in: Thursday, July 18, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
