2021 - All entries will be made in Fair Entry.  The registration link will be open starting on May 15th to accept Westfair entries.  Check the 2021 Fairbook for exact deadline dates. 

 

 

4-H members should register in Fair Entry using their 4-H Online account credentials.  FFA members should create an account in Fair Entry and then choose their chapter from the list (see the flow chart below).

Westfair T-Shirts - all 4-H and FFA Westfair 2021 exhibitors will receive a Westfair t-shirt at no cost.  Make sure to order your t-shirt in Fair Entry by July 1.  If you are just showing static projects, please make sure to at least go into Fair Entry to enter one exhibit before July 1 to place your shirt order.  They will be ordered on July 2 to arrive in time for fair. 
 
If parents and/or leaders who would like a Westfair T-Shirt, please submit your order to the Extension Office by July 1.  Extra shirts are $15 each.  Checks can be made payable to ISU Extension.

2021 Westfair Entries Information:

 
Communications:
 
Educational Presentations - entries due in Fair Entry by July 1- The Educational Presentation contest will be held on Sunday, July 25th at UMBA Hall in Underwood.  Participants may leave after they give their presentation (see schedule).  Educational Presentation awards will be presented on Thursday, July 29th at 6:30 p.m. in the Commercial Building. 
 
Working Exhibits - entries due in Fair Entry by July 1.  The Working Exhibit contest will take place on Thursday, July 29th starting at 5:30 p.m. in the Commercial Building (see schedule). 
 
Share the Fun - due in Fair Entry by July 1.  The contest will take place on Sunday, August 1st at 2:00 p.m. in conjunction with the 4-H Style Show in the Commercial Building.
 
*Note - if you are doing a communication event with a partner or a team, each individual of the team must register in Fair Entry to receive premium money.
 
Poster Communications - due July 20th before 11:59 p.m. in Fair Entry (judged on static exhibit entry day). 

  • Poster Communication Label - pdf version - word version.  Poster Communication Rules.  Attach the report to your poster and bring with your static exhibits on Wednesday, July 28. Special Poster Communication rules can be found in the fairbook (under the Personal Development section).   

 
Table Setting Contest:

  • Table Setting Contest - Entry due by July 1st before 11:59 p.m. in Fair Entry - for 2021 Fair Entry will be open for Table Setting until July 20 (same as static projects).   
  • Table Setting Report Form - fillable pdf - word doc (use the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to edit and save pdf)
  • Table Setting will be judged (see schedule) on Wednesday, July 28.  Winners will be selected in each category (Junior Formal, Junior Casual, Intermediate Formal, Intermediate Casual, Senior Formal, Senior Casual). 
  • A regional contest (featuring the top Junior Formal, Junior Casual, Intermediate Formal, Intermediate Casual, Senior Formal and Senior Casual) is tentatively planned for August 8, 2021 at the Cass County Community Center in Atlantic.

*If you are doing Table Setting with a partner, each partner must fill out an entry in Fair Entry to receive premium points.    
 
Clothing Selection/Fashion Revue/$15 Challenge:

 
Apple Pie Contest Forms:

  • Apple Pie Contest - Entry due by July 1st at 11:59 p.m. in Fair Entry
  • The Apple Pie Contest will take place on Thursday, July 22nd at Underwood Middle School.
  • Apple Pie Letter to Contestants - includes supply list 

*If you are making an apple pie with a partner, each partner must register in Fair Entry to receive premium points.

Market Animal Disclosure Statements: (due when you unload your animals at the fairgrounds)

 
Camping Forms:

  • Camping Permission and Registration Form -  Checks made payable to WESTFAIR.  Fee for camping is $100 for electricity and $40 for tents (no electricity). 
  • Camping forms should be mailed to Joe Turner, P.O. Box 301, Neola, IA 51559 by July 10.

 
West Pottawattamie Scholarships:

***Scholarship interviews (for competitive scholarship only) will be held on Wednesday, July 21st beginning at 5:00 p.m.  Applicants should sign up for a time HERE.
 
Other Exhibitor Information / Static Exhibit Information:

  • Photography Exhibit Label (pdf version)  Photography Exhibit Label word version.  Attach to the back of your picture and bring with you to photography exhibit judging. 
  • All photographs must have labels attached. 
  • Photography judging will take place on Sunday, July 25th at UMBA Hall in Underwood.  
  • Photography Exhibit Evaluation - just for reference.  
  • Photography exhibit deadline is July 20th before 11:59 p.m. in Fair Entry.
