Crop Advantage meetings provide a solid foundation of current, research-based crop production information to help make smart, informed decisions for the farming operation. The 2019 meetings are an opportunity for farmers and crop advisers to hear current research and crop production information from Iowa State University. The Crop Advantage Series meeting in Fort Dodge will be held on January 16, 2019, at the Best Western Starlite Village.

Iowaa State University Extension & Outreaach Women in Ag

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach – Webster County is offering a series of five classes including Market Outlook and Using Grain Options, Grain Contracts and Budgets, Land Info and Retirement Planning, My Grain Marketing Plan and Technology on the Farm. The classes will be held on Thursdays beginning Jan. 10, and continuing Jan. 24, Feb. 7, Feb. 21 and Mar. 7. The classes will be held in the Webster County Extension and Outreach Office. The cost of the series is $50 and includes light meals.

Tractor spraying pesticides in field If you plan to attend a session in another county, check with that County Extension office about preregistration and the arrival time.  The fee for this program is $20 and will be used to off-set direct expenses & to support the Agricultural and Natural Resources County Extension Program.

  • Works to promote efficient pork production technologies in Iowa, maintain Iowa's pork industry leadership and strengthen rural development efforts.

  • In-depth self-study courses and resource centers that provide management education to agricultural producers, educators and service providers.

  • Providing timely, critically objective information to producers, professionals and agribusinesses concerning the application of important developments in agricultural law and taxation and a primary source of professional educational training in agricultural law and taxation.

  • One-on-one financial counseling, computerized analysis of the farm business, and referral to other extension programs or outside services that may be useful in farm financial planning.
