Registrations Open
The Washington County Extension Office has 13 individual day camp opportunities and workshop series called Clover University. These camps serve a variety of ages from kindergarten – 12th grade. Camp flyers will be sent out to the schools the week of April 18. All registration links and detailed camp descriptions are below. Each camp serving different age groups and objectives.
“Magician’s Laboratory” is for youth who just completed Kindergarten-1st grade as of June 1. Be a magician for the day and make wands, stir up potions, build screaming balloons, wear wizard hats, put on a magic show with worms, exploding soda, invisible ink and more! Beverage and snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a sack lunch. The cost for this camp is $25. Camp runs June 10, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m at the basement of Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. “Camp Calm” is for youth 3rd-4th grade youth to experience spa, relaxation, and mindfulness. Escape into the Camp Calm Spa this summer by making homemade body care products, learn and practice different relaxation and mindfulness techniques and leave feeling positive, refreshed, and connected to new friends. The day will include zen gardens, yoga, happy lists, body scrubs and more. Beverage and snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a sack lunch. Camp will be held June 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. The cost for this camp is $25. Register for Camp Calm here.
“Kids in the Kitchen” is for youth 2nd -3rd grade to learn and make yummy, healthy snacks while exploring different foods and safe handling practices in the kitchen. Healthy eating habits will come into practice in selecting snacks and youth will take home recipes. Beverage and snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a sack lunch. Camp will be held June 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Washington County Farm Bureau Building. The cost for this camp is $25. Register for Kids in the Kitchen here.
“On My Own & Ok ” Youth left home by themselves without self-care skills may find ways to occupy their time that parents or guardians do not support. Some young people may truly be fearful of staying home alone. On Their Own and OK builds skills in youth, as well as incorporates ways for parents or guardians in the home to support this step toward independence. Open to youth 4th-6th Camp will be held June 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. The cost for this camp is $25. Register for On My Own & Ok here.
“Youth Theater Day Camp” Imagine, practice, and create during this theater camp learning to use body language, voice, and character development to practice and perfect for a showcase performance at downtown Washington's Thursday Night Live at 6 pm. Youth will work in small groups to put on their own show for family, friends and community downtown. Three groups will be offered for age-appropriate theater experiences and learning. Groups will be kindergarten-2nd grade, 3rd-4th grade, and 5th-6th grade. Beverage and snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a sack lunch. Camp will be held July 7 from 9:30 a.m. starting at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. Camp will conclude in downtown Washington after the performance approximately to 6:30 p.m. The cost for this camp is $25.

“Fed by Farms” is to teach children about soil and plants while providing them with opportunities to get their hands dirty planting seeds and conducting experiments investigating different soil types. Children will also learn about livestock farming from local farmers in our area along with experiencing hands-on tasks involved with livestock farming. Youth will come to learn and appreciate how people are fed by farms. The cost is $25. Camp is held in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall on the Washington County Fairgrounds.

“Art Rocks!” is for youth 2nd -3rd grade to create and explore during this art camp with take-home projects focused on elements of line, shape, color, form, and texture through integrated art and literacy activities. Beverage and snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a sack lunch. Camp will be held July 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington. The cost for this camp is $25. “Build Your Future” is a 6-session workshop series open to youth 8th grade- 12th grade. From exploring potential jobs to starting their own business, the “Build Your Future” curriculum helps teens develop skills and knowledge in career exploration. Participants experience a variety of ways to connect with and build their future. 6 sessions will be held at Dallmeyer Hall in Washington on June 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22 from 5:30pm-7:30pm. “Babysitting Basics” is a week-long course to teach the responsibilities of a babysitter, what employers expect, caring for infants and toddlers, age-appropriate toys, how to handle emergencies and basic first aid. This camp is open to youth who have completed 5th grade. The cost for this babysitting training is $30. Participants will receive a babysitting starter bag full of goodies. Camp is held at the Washington County Extension Office.

Space is limited to 20 registrations for each camp. Registrations should be completed online. Registrations accepted on a first come, first serve basis while space is available. Scholarships are available upon request. Make payments to Washington County Extension Office. The fees for service are used to offset direct expenses of the program and to support the 4-H Youth Development County Extension Program.
