Two New Clover Kid Clubs to Start in October

Washington County 4-H will be starting two new Clover Kid Clubs.  Clover Kids is a 4-H program for youth in Kindergarten-3rd grade that fosters positive relationships and builds valuable life skills through a variety of hands-on activities involving STEM, literacy, healthy living, and communication.   There are currently ten Clover Kid clubs in Washington County with seven open for enrollment.
The Lucky Clovers will meet for a Find Out Night on October 13 from 6pm-7pm at Brighton Community Building.  This club will traditionally meet the second Tuesday of the month with leadership from volunteers Cassidy Frost, Carrie Rich and Brandi Dawson.
The Creative Clovers will have their first meeting on October 28 from 6:30 pm-7:30pm in the basement of Dallmeyer Hall on the fairgrounds.  This club will meet traditionally the 4th Wednesday of the month with leadership from volunteers Kelly Ross, Jackie Ross and Rowan Ross.  This club will use curriculum designed from Iowa 4-H called Art-Lit To Go with hands-on creating of art through a variety of mediums and art styles each month.
Youth and parents interested in the new Clover Kids clubs are encouraged to attend their first meeting to explore the fun and get questions answered or call the Washington County Extension Office at 319-653-4811.
There are currently Clover Kid clubs meeting in Wellman, Kalona Keota, Riverside, Crawfordsville and Washington areas set to start in October.  Previous members should hear from their leaders soon on plans for the new year. Washington County 4-H Club and Clover Kid club list can be found here.
