Iowa State University Extension and Outreach is a partner in offering vaccine education in Iowa. The Iowa Department of Public Health, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, and University of Iowa College of Public Health and Institute for Clinical and Translational Science are committed to ensuring all Iowans have access to information about COVID-19 vaccines. Together, we will provide Iowans with opportunities to learn more about the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines, hear from medical experts and ask questions. In April, we will host a series of virtual information sessions for Iowans:

  • April 17, 10 a.m.
  • April 19, 6 p.m.
  • April 24, 10 a.m. (in Spanish)

Our subject-matter expert partners are providing research-based information and we are moving quickly to mobilize our networks. I have asked Dr. Debra Sellers and Andrea Nelson to co-chair this vaccine education initiative. More specifics on the information sessions will come soon. To prepare, I encourage you to attend the “staff only” training session on April 1 and our Second Monday Live on April 12. These sessions provide an opportunity to learn more about the information sessions and your key role in bringing research-based education and information to Iowans.

Vaccine Information Session PREVIEW (staff only)
April 1, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.

Second Monday Live
April 12, 10–10:30 a.m.
(Please note that we are hosting this session in WebEx rather than Adobe Connect.)
