In April, we successfully concluded a series of three COVID-19 Vaccine Information Sessions in partnership with the Iowa Department of Public Health and the University of Iowa. These sessions enabled Iowans to hear from medical experts on the COVID-19 vaccine and ask and receive answers to their questions. The questions were as candid and straightforward as Iowans themselves: from the speed and process of vaccine testing and trials, to risks and side effects, to the timetable for vaccines for children.
While the live sessions are complete, our mission persists — to provide Iowans with information they need to make important decisions about their lives and health.
To reach even more Iowans, we are now offering session recordings in French and Arabic in addition to the current English and Spanish. We ask you to personally share with your networks the availability of these videos so we may continue to extend the reach and impact of these sessions in our communities.
- You can find these video translations at www.iowacovidinfo.org/recordings as well as via posts on ISU Extension and Outreach social media.
- For additional social media posts and tips for sharing, visit the COVID-19 Vaccine Education Initiative page on MyExtension.
- Watch for more content to come, as the Advancement team will share short clips from these sessions to social media that answer key questions about the vaccine.
As before, please communicate the availability of recordings and translations. In addition to reaching out to your contacts, we ask that you connect with local organizations focused on health as well as populations that may prefer content in Spanish, French or Arabic and urge them to share as well.
Once again, thank you for the important role you play in bringing research-based information to Iowans.
