Effective today, Andrea Nelson will serve as ISU Extension and Outreach’s interim assistant vice president for county services. Andrea brings great leadership and collaboration to our shared work. For the past 11 months she served as interim 4-H youth development state program leader. Please join me in thanking Andrea for her leadership of 4-H youth development during a critical. Also, thank her for stepping into this interim role at a critical time for county services as we continue the Structured for Success research, roll out and discussion.
Andrea has served in a variety of leadership roles with ISU Extension and Outreach in Polk County and Region 13. Andrea brings a more than 15-year track record of building working relationships with individuals and groups inside and outside of ISU Extension and Outreach. As a regional director, she has experience with both urban and rural counties and has served on numerous state committees.
Andrea received a bachelor’s degree in geology and geophysics from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and a master’s in public administration from Drake University.
