Chad Higgins, senior director for ISU Extension and Outreach, will be leaving Iowa State to take a position with the University of Missouri. Chad’s last day at Iowa State will be Aug. 14. On Aug. 17, he will begin his new role as University of Missouri’s associate vice chancellor for extension and engagement.
Chad has served as our senior director since March 2015. He was the first person to serve in this role, coordinating ISU Extension and Outreach program units on campus and guiding program implementation throughout our 100 county offices. He built strong relationships across our organization and the university as he led an effective team of professionals focused on the ISU Extension and Outreach mission. Plans are underway regarding how we will address Chad’s responsibilities moving forward.
We are sad to see Chad leave ISU Extension and Outreach, but we are glad that the people of Missouri will benefit from his expertise. In his new position he will be working to develop innovative, relevant programming and partnerships to solve Missouri’s grand challenges related to the economy, education, and health. We also look forward to collaborating with him as a leader in the North Central Region to help the region grow stronger as we face unprecedented challenges during the continuing pandemic.
Please join me in congratulating Chad and wishing him well as he takes on his new position with the University of Missouri.
John D. Lawrence
Vice President for Extension and Outreach
