ISU Extension and Outreach has organized these groups of young Iowans so they can connect with each other to be successful in agriculture.
Extension swine specialists and agricultural engineers in four states have teamed-up to create an educational workshop using a “field day on wheels” – a swine ventilation training unit.
Farmers talking to farmers and learning from each other will help Iowa ramp up water quality efforts and implement new management practices to carry out the state’s Nutrient Reduction Strategy. The goal is to reduce the nitrogen and phosphorus loads in water leaving farm lands.

The Beginning and Young Livestock Producer Network, an ISU Extension and Outreach initiative, establishes peer groups of young producers because livestock producers say they like to learn from other producers. They want to have more discussions and opportunities to interact with their peers.
