4-H Youth View the Solar Eclipse

Wearing special glasses or using hand-made, cereal-box viewers, nearly 2,000 young Iowans participated in 4-H solar eclipse day camps across Iowa, including Boone, where ISU Extension and Outreach 4-H Youth Development teamed up with Sacred Heart School.

Our Story: 4-H Youth Apply Animal Science

The next generation of animal scientists – and technicians, engineers and mathematicians – are examining their interests and testing future careers, thanks to Iowa 4-H. Youth learn and apply animal science through 4-H projects and activities such as Animal Science Round-Up.

4-H Helps Youth Add Inquiry to STEM

From building robots to experimenting with electricity and extracting DNA from bananas, kids and teens explore hands-on, scientific inquiry through 4-H clubs and out-of-school experiences from Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.
