Managing for Today and Tomorrow: Farm Transition Planning Course in Harlan

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Women in Ag program is holding Managing for Today and Tomorrow: Farm Transition Planning, a five session course beginning Thursday, November 2, 2017 in Harlan, Iowa and continuing November 9, November 16, November 30, and December 7. Classes are from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a light meal served at 5:45 p.m.. The classes will be held at the Shelby County Extension Office, 906 6th Street, Harlan, Iowa. Cost is $75.

 

What is Managing for Today and Tomorrow: Farm Transition Planning?

The decisions made during business, estate, retirement and succession planning are combined to form a farm transition plan. Planning ensures the farm can continue to the next generation as a productive agricultural business. This course is taught in the tradition of Annie’s Project and incorporates a comfortable and supportive learning environment. Course participants of all ages and experience levels will be empowered to confidently set goals, nurture effective family or non-family conversations, and define the farm legacy.
