I completed my Microbiology B. S. thesis work at CIAT (International Center for Tropical Agriculture, ciat.cgiar.org). I was a graduate assistant in Dr Mary Hausbeck’s lab (Vegetable and Ornamental Pathology at Michigan State University) for 6 years. For my M.S. I worked with soil borne pathogens (Fusarium and Phytophthora) in asparagus. For my Ph.D., I worked characterizing new foliar pathogens (Colletotrichum spp.) causing anthracnose in onion and celery. While finishing my doctorate, I was an intern with Michigan State University Extension (MSUE) as a commercial vegetable crops educator. With MSUE, I supported extension statewide for vegetable crops diseases. Also, I assisted growers in Southeast Michigan with IPM, horticulture, entomology and weed management
