Two Tama county 4-H youth were among the fifty Iowa 4-H members who were recognized for their 2019 state 4-H project awards at the Iowa 4-H Youth Conference. A project area is a broad topic that 4-H members can explore on their own or with the mentorship of a 4-H leader or other caring adult.

Deborah Nistler has been named 4-H youth development state program leader for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. Her appointment begins Aug. 15. Currently Nistler is the state civic engagement and 4-H legislature program coordinator for University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension, as well as extension director for Bradford County.

AMES, Iowa – Twenty-five Iowa State University Extension and Outreach staff members were honored in October at the Iowa 4-H YouthFest professional development conference. Award recipients were recognized for their impact on local communities, accomplishments in their field and embodiment of the ISU Extension and Outreach 4-H mission.
