Advanced Calving Clinic to be Held in Dysart

Even if you calved hundreds of cows in your lifetime, you'll want to attend this workshop to learn new techniques to manage difficult deliveries, tricks to snag a leg that is back, first aid at calving time and when to call your vet for assistance.  All cattlemen can learn new tips to improve neonatal calf care to improve the long-term health of their calves.  Feeding the cow in late gestation and early lactation have huge implications on the calving process, colostrum quality and quantity, and next year's calves as well.
The workshop will be held at the Dysart Community Building at 418 Main St. in Dysart  from 5:00-10:00 pm on Monday, February 17.  Cost is $20. Register by calling the Tama County Extension Office at 641-484-2703 before Feruary 13. There are a limited number of spaces available in this workshop.
