AMES, Iowa -- The year 2020 brought many challenges and uncertainties to the world, and agriculture most definitely felt the impact.Wild price swings, supply chain disruptions and economic hardships caused farmers across Iowa to review their finances and operating plan in great detail.During these difficult times – and any time farmers are looking for financial advice, they can turn to the Farm Financial Planning Program with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach.

 Tax preparers and advisers in Iowa and Wisconsin can plan ahead for the annual tax school offered by the Center for Agricultural Law and Taxation at Iowa State University.  The program will be offered on select dates from Nov. 10 through Dec. 15, with the traditional two-day option, or the option to complete the training in four morning or four afternoon sessions, depending on preference. Participants will be eligible for 16 hours of continuing professional education credits.

 The Iowa State University Tama County Extension and Outreach office will host a meeting on Thursday, August 22, beginning at 9 a.m. with doors open at 8:30 a.m. The location is at the Gladbrook Memorial Building located at 421 Johnston St.. in Gladbrook. The meeting will last approximately 2 ½ hours and will be facilitated by Steve Johnson, farm and agriculture business management specialist with ISU Extension and Outreach.
