The Story County 4-H program is always looking for volunteers to help with a variety of activities, ranging from helping with county fair events to serving as a club leader!

June 25, 2020

Story County Extension and Outreach has recieved a Service Enterprise certification! Story County Extension will be equipped to engage and manage volunteers more effectively to meet community needs.

February 6, 2020

Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Story County office hosted the On Their Own and Okay youth program in January at the Gilbert Intermediate School.  Ten youth met weekly afterschool for threes week and identified ways to stay home on their own safely for a short time.  They recognized how house rules provide safety and identified activities that help avoid boredom or loneliness while home alone.  Students also learned to make simple snacks.

February 6, 2020

A Babysitting Basics class for students in fifth grade and up is being offered by ISU Extension and Outreach on Friday, February 21 from 11:30 am to 5:30 pm and will be held at the Roland Public Library. 

January 10, 2020

Youth in grades K-6 can start their own collection of recipes provided during the program. Questions can be directed to Mary at 515-382-6551 or email mwilkins@iastate.edu.
